I'm a student, so I don't have nearly as much time for leisure reading as I'd like. If I manage to read an entire course book instead of just the assigned chapters, I'll review that here, too.
Stella
Would have needed the strong hand of an editor, but a funny and charming story nonetheless. Stella's spunk must be admired.The crux of the story is the different fates of Stella and Sadie - not success and failure, as such, but struggle (the constant bettering of oneself required by show business) and giving up (living an ordinary life). I don't think Sadie's choice was wrong, though Morecambe does make her life sound heart-wrenchingly depressing.
